The amount of content also makes the subpar gameplay much worse due to sheer repetition. ![]() It feels like they abandoned the whole tone from the first game. ![]() The tone through-out the game is much weaker with constant dated 90s pop culture references, fan service, and characters that exist for nothing but comic relief. The first game creates this bleak and isolated world that you're ordered to find a water chip in, while in this game you're the "chosen one" to embark on a great quest to find a similar item. The difference in tone is clear from the start. This game feels more focused on having content than a good, cohesive atmosphere. I was disappointed by this after playing Fallout 1.
